How To Have A Peaceful Christmas | Lesson 1

devos and doodles Dec 02, 2022

With the holidays upon us, it's important to remember that the supernatural peace Jesus gives comes from the inside, and is NOT moved by external circumstances.

And in order for us to FEEL that peace, we have to remember to spend time with Jesus: reading His word, meditating on it, and praying. And often times, we have to reign in negative thoughts and choose to replace them with positive ones.

Our art centered around that very thing! Our verse this week was Isaiah 26:3, "You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You."

Graditude | Awesome Relationships

devos and doodles Nov 23, 2022

This week we finished our Awesome Relationships study on a timely devotional titled "An Attitude of Gratitude". It reminds us that when you work at developing the habit of thanking God for others, it will cultivate a joyful impact in your relationships.

In this photo you can see the template that my tribe members get for lessons. If you're interested in joining one of my lettering memberships, you can find more information about it here.

Our artwork was centered around the verse Philippians 1:3, "Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God."

Help Each Other Grow | Awesome Relationships

devos and doodles Nov 17, 2022

This week we talked about how to help each other grow in positive ways. Two ways to do that are by the example we set, and by the words we speak. Two ways that don't help are by criticizing and comparing.

Our art work was centered around 1 Thessalonians 5:11, "Build each other up, just as you are already doing."  So remember as we go into the holidays, set an example of loving one another by your words and actions.

Positive Prayer Strengthens Your Relationships

devos and doodles Nov 10, 2022

This week in Devos and Doodles our lesson was on the effects of joyful prayer for others.

The apostle Paul emphasized praying for others with JOY. (Phil 1:4) A great way to change a bad relationship into a good one is by praying for each person in the relationship to grow in love, make wise decisions, live with integrity, and become more like Jesus.

Our artwork was focused on Nehemiah 8:10, "for the joy of the Lord is your strength".

Creating Trust in Friendships

devos and doodles Nov 04, 2022

This week in Devo’s & Doodles we talked about how important it is to have trusting friendships. People you can be open and honest with, without fear if judgment.

We emphasized the verse Proverbs 11:13, “No one who gossips can be trusted with a secret, But you can put confidence in someone who is trustworthy.”

Remember, it’s important to have these friends in your life, but to also BE a trustworthy friend as well. What are the best qualities you admire in your closest friends?

Love People by Listening

devos and doodles Oct 25, 2022

Many times when we ask someone how they are doing, they’ll say “I’m fine”.  But if we are truly paying attention we can notice their body language might tell a different story. I heard one time this referred to as “heart winks”.

This week in Devos & Doodles we read Romans 15:2, which tells us to bare one another’s burdens. That might require some self-sacrifice: putting down the phone, forgetting about rushing off to the next errand, and paying close attention to the person talking to us.

Watch for those heart winks—times when the smile on their face doesn’t really match the look in their eyes. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask those questions. Dig a little deeper. We don’t always know what’s going on in people’s lives. Sometimes even close friends. You never know when you will be the life rope to someone.
